    Train to be an electrician

At RF training we get a lot of trainees who want to train to be an electrician but do not know how to go about it. When you train to be an electrician there are a number of routes that you can take which ultimately help you to achieve your goal and become an electrician.

The traditional route when you train to be an electrician is to take a college course or apprenticeship which can be difficult not just for mature students but school leavers as well. Apprenticeships are currently being pushed by the government to address the skills gap and help people train to be an electrician between college courses and real world training.

Why choose private training courses to train to be an electrician?

Many people are now turning to private training courses to train to be an electrician. This is due to the wider availability and flexibility of these courses. Private training courses such as RF Training also address the skills gap between college courses and apprenticeships when you train to be an electrician as practical work is started from the first day the trainee arrives at the training centre.

Private training courses also offer more flexibility than colleges allowing trainees to complete the course in as little as seven weeks to six months depending upon your working situation, i.e. you can only get two days off a week.

RF Training’s intensive electrician course provides it’s trainees with industry recognised qualifications which aide you in gaining a job or starting your own business once you train to be an electrician. These include:

    • City & Guilds 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (Level 3)
    • Logic Full Scope Electrical Part P
    • City & Guilds (2392) Certificate in Fundamental Inspection and Testing and Initial Verification
    • Logic Certification Domestic Periodic Inspection and Testing Award

Why train to be an electrician?

Some electricians can earn in excess of £30,000 a year depending upon the amount of working hours they want to take on.

Extra courses can also be taken on after you train to be an electrician, such as PAT Testing, meaning you could earn much more by expanding your portfolio of work.
