Sarah Cheatley – Electrical Trainee
- Published June 18, 2010When Sarah Cheatley was asked the question, why did you choose to train as an electrician?, Sarah commented “After working in the retail industry for 19 years, I felt that each day I was dealing with the same thing and realised it was time for a change. I have always had an interest in the practical side of things and used to help my dad with home improvements when I was young. I searched on the Internet for a training course and found The RF Training Centre. I decided to enrol on the 6 week 16th Edition Electrical Training Course.
The course is going well and I am learning a lot. Being the only female on the course has posed no problems at all. The guys on the course are great. More and more women are entering the electrical field. There is great scope for women becoming electricians and it is a known fact that customers will trust a women more than a man, especially the elderly.
I have already been offered a position with a home improvement company after completion of the course. I think it is important that I first start working with someone who is experienced so that I can learn from them as I go along. I am looking forward to shortly starting my new career”.
