Gas Engineer Courses – Fast Track Gas Installers Course Outline
Whilst completing your gas courses in Manchester you will first spend some time in the centre doing Theory, practical and assessments in the following areas:
- Pipe bending and jointing skills for copper and steel pipes
- Installation and maintenance of central heating controls, i.e. pumps and motorized valves
- Testing and purging of domestic gas installations
- Flues and ventilation
- Gas industry legislation
- Installation of domestic gas appliances
- Commissioning, servicing and maintenance of domestic gas appliances
- Part L
Gas engineer courses – On-site Practical Experience:
Following completion of the BPEC gas courses in Manchester you will then work with a Gas Safe registered installer who must observe and sign-off a set number of tasks to complete your portfolio.
These tasks will include:
- Tightness tests with and without appliances
- Appliance services & Breakdowns
- Standing pressure checks
- Trace and repair gas leak
- Flue flow tests
- Identify correct ventilation
The practical work will then be signed off by a Gas Safe registered installer.
Gas engineer courses – ACS Training and Assessment
After you have completed your on site portfolio you will then return to complete you gas courses in Manchester at the centre. Here you will then complete your ACS initial gas training and assessment. In the last 10 days of your gas courses in Manchester you will learn and be tested on the following areas:
- CCN1 – Core Gas Safety
- CEN1 – Central Heating
- HTR1 – Gas Fires
- WAT1 – Water Heaters
- CKR1 – Cookers
- CPA1 – Flue Gas Analysers
Upon completion of the ACS assessments you will then be able to apply for Gas Safe registration or apply for a position with a Gas Safe Registered organisation and work under their Gas Registration.
