Pat Testing Course with RF Training

PAT Testing

It is a legal requirement that commercial properties undertake regular PAT Testing of all electrical appliances. As such this is a huge market that needs to be serviced. Operatives that undertake PAT Testing must be able to demonstrate competence in this area.

If you carry out inspection and testing on items of electrical equipment you have to be competent and consider the safety of yourself and others who may be affected. As such you must be aware of the typical causes of damage that may occur to electrical equipment, appliances and flexible cables, especially whilst they are in use. Items need to be identified with respect to their equipment class and type so that appropriate testing and analysis of results can be undertaken. You must also be able to report your findings and record results correctly and identify equipment using appropriate labelling.

Successful completion of this City & Guilds Level 3 certificate will show you have a sound working knowledge of the relevant parts of the Code of Practice that relates to equipment Construction, Inspection, Testing and Recording of results. The course is aimed at persons with an interest in the electrical sector that want to update their knowledge to be able to safely carry out the inspection and testing of portable appliances, record the results and are familiar with the use of the Institute of Electrical Engineer’s code of practice for in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment.
