Part P Qualification – Defined Scope Electrical Course
The defined scope Part P qualification is designed to prove competence for plumbers and other associated trades on electrical work they may carry out.
The Part P Qualification consists of four days training and one day assessment. This Part P Qualification allows you to self certify your own work resulting in less time and money spent on getting any electrical work signed off.
Upon completion of the Part P Qualification you will be able (together with Wiring Regulations) to support your application for registration for the competent person scheme (provider’s include NICEIC, CORGI, ECA).

Part P Qualification – Defined Scope – Outline
Some of the work covered in the Part P qualification includes:
- Replacement or installation of immersion heater and controls.
- Replacement and installation of an electric shower or shower pump.
- Installation or replacement of macerator units.
- Earth bonding requirements in bathrooms, shower rooms or kitchens.
- Central Heating controls.
- Extension of ring mains.
