Part P Defined Scope Electrical Course
On the 1st January 2005 the government introduced new rules on carrying out electrical work in domestic properties. The defined scope Part P award is designed to prove competence for Plumbers and other associated trades on electrical work they may carry out.
The course consists of four days training and one day assessment. The assessments are both practical and theory question papers.
Upon completion of the Defined Scope Course the candidate can use the course (together with Wiring Regulations) to support their application for registration for the competent person status with a scheme provider (NICEIC, CORGI, ECA etc).

Part P Defined Scope Electrical Course Outline
Some of the work covered by Part P is:- Replacement or installation of immersion heater and controls.
- Replacement and installation of an electric shower or shower pump.
- Installation or replacement of macerator units.
- Earth bonding requirements in bathrooms, shower rooms or kitchens.
- Central Heating controls.
- Extension of ring mains.
