Birmingham Goes Plumbing Crazy!

When Jeff Dermain from Lancashire walked into the RF Training Centre on the first day of his 7 week plumbing training course, little did he know that he was the 300th trainee to pass through the doors of the RF Training Centre since it opened to the public in November 2006.

Jeff was presented with a certificate as well as a DeWALT Power Drill Set which will assist Jeff in starting his new career in plumbing.

Like so many others, Jeff decided on a career change. Previously a HGV driver, delivering across the UK, he was often away from home 4 nights a week, leaving in the early hours of Monday and not returning home until Friday evening, which meant little time to spend with his family.

Jeff chose the RF Training Intensive 7-week Plumbing Course, which covers all aspects of domestic plumbing; fault finding and maintenance because the intensive course will not only train him, but will also fully prepare him for his new career. Commenting on why he decided to choose the plumbing trade, Jeff said “I have always been a practical, hands-on person and I have always had an interest in plumbing, so it seemed the obvious choice.”  He added, “I plan to work for a local company initially, gain experience and then start up my own business. That is something that I have always wanted to do.”

The future looks bright for Jeff and for the RF Training Centre. With a well publicised shortage of plumbers available across the UK, and a number of their own franchisees and sub-contractors successfully trained through the company, the RF Training Centre has opened its doors to external candidates, to benefit people who wish to change their career and gain a recession proof and well sort after trade.
